Why does school start so early? It is still summer, and the last 2 days have been the hottest we've had so far. It doesn't seem right to me, we should have been at the beach. Ok well we weren't, the house is quiet from 8-2:45 so I can get a lot of work done.
Like carding batts:
And then spinning them
Doing a breed study of raw Shetland wool washed-carded-spun-washed again. And a bit of garden clean up

I am full of envies! The batts, spinning, and the harvest are so enticing. Wish I live next door, seriously! Then, we can play most days when the kids are in school :D
My girls go back day after Labor Day only for non-academic classes like band and choir. Then, we are off to a private island near Lincoln City for our annual family retreat with 20 other unschooler-families for five days. Hubby and I will map out our future then...
Wouldn't it be fun if we lived near by? Well maybe someday! We have lots of family in Oregon & Robert would like to move there...so eventually.
Unschooling is GREAT! I did it with my kids, it was a little weird to get involved with a school but it's a good thing for my granddaughter, I see that now. If her mommy ever manages a way to make money from home then she could home school.
